Laura Raiford - Licensed Professional Counselor

Laura has experience working in church and school-based settings counseling adults, children and families in a variety of areas including anxiety, autism, grief, ADHD, family and attachment issues, and trauma. Laura employs a client-centered, multimodal, attachment-based approach with a strong use of psychodynamic and experiential modalities (particularly play and art/creative therapies) and has a special interest in working with trauma. Also an adult adoptee, Laura is skilled in working with the foster and adoptive population including youth adoptees, adult adoptees, and the parents/caregivers of foster and adopted youth. She enjoys helping children develop emotional insight and strengthening abilities to advocate for their emotional needs, as well as partnering with families to facilitate growth and awareness as paths to healing. Laura is able to employ widely accepted and evidenced-based practices couched in a biblical worldview. Laura has enjoyed living in several different areas of the United States, now calling the South her home since college. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, watching baseball games & movies, reading great books, and spending time outside (birdwatching, anyone?).
